Types of Resin
There are many different kinds of resins on the market. Here are brief summaries of the 4 types of resin that you are most likely to use when 3D printing miniatures.
Standard
Standard resins (and high-detail) are affordable and generally the easiest to print with. This makes it great for beginners who are just getting started. Standard resins produce some of the most fragile prints, however, and need to be handled with extra care.
Water Washable
Water Washable resins are another affordable option, though they tend to be one of the most fragile materials (minus a couple exceptions). Keep in mind that although you can wash the prints with water, resin-contaminated water cannot be poured down the drain! Refer to Resin Waste Disposal for more information.
ABS-Like
ABS-Like resins are another option that is relatively easy to print with, with the added befit of a little more strength than a Standard resin.
Tough / Professional
Tough resins can give you some of the strongest resin prints, making it great for producing long lasting minis, but they typically are trickier to print with and cost the most.
